Hi, I’m Collin.

I’m a Wisconsin-raised, Minnesota-educated, MIT-based engineer, blacksmith and climber pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Growing up on a farm has left me with a strong intuition for all things mechanical. That intuition was supplemented and amplified by my time at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) where I earned my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. During my time at UST I was the Engineering Lead at the Playful Learning Lab – an interdisciplinary research team focused on engaging students and teachers around the globe.

After a short stint as a robot programmer, I began my graduate career at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and joined the Global Engineering and Research Lab (GEAR Lab). I earned my master’s degree in 2023 with a focus on farm machinery and began a PhD focused on wind power shortly thereafter.

If you want to climb something, swing a big hammer or just get coffee, reach out! Lets see what we can build together.
